A subdomain is part of a web address which is under the main domain, for instance name.example.com. Actually, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain since the fully qualified domain name is only "example.com". Every single subdomain can have its own web site and records and can even be hosted through a different provider if you want to use some feature which is not provided by your current provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a company site and an online store under a subdomain where clients can acquire your products. You can even have a forum where they can talk about the products and by using subdomains rather than subfolders you will avoid any chance of all sites going down if you perform maintenance, or update one of the site scripts. Keeping your websites separated is also less risky in the event of a script security breach.

Subdomains in Website Hosting

Our website hosting packages will allow you to create numerous subdomains for every domain hosted in your account without any hassle. Provided that the main domain address is added, it requires 2 mouse clicks to set up a subdomain and choose what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), set custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and control. By right-clicking on any of them and by using quick access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that specific subdomain. We haven't set a restriction for the total number of subdomains you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you want.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you purchase a semi-dedicated server package, you're going to be able to create as many subdomains as you want because this feature is unrestricted. Since the hosting packages are very powerful, we've decided not to put any limit on the number of subdomains. Our advanced Hepsia CP will enable you to create a new subdomain with no more than a couple of clicks, to choose which folder it's going to access inside the account, to enable FrontPage Extensions for it, to set up unique error pages, to set a shared or a dedicated IP address if you have one, and much more. For your convenience, all the subdomains are going to be listed under their root domain, so you can very easily see and handle them. Through quick access links, you'll have the ability to open the website files for each of the subdomains that you have or view its DNS records.
